Think Of Your Body As An Ocean

The ocean covers 70 percent of the earth.Likewise, our bodies are also 70 percent water. Our bodies need hydration every day because water is the principal constituent of all body fluids, is essential for proper metabolic functioning, and is necessary to flush toxins. Dehydration is a major cause of accelerated aging. You want to stay hydrated by drinking half of your body weight in ounces of purified water every day. READ MORE

The Pursuit of Happiness is the Right of All Americans

Last week I wrote “How I Got Happy—Ten Steps that Might Work For You.” But I’m not exactly done with that subject. Over the course of the last sixteen years as I wrote books on health and developed my health program I’ve come to realize that my mission is not about “health” but about happiness. Being healthy is being happy. Without your health, it’s very difficult to feel happy.

The pursuit of happiness is our right as Americans. What an odd thing for our country’s founders to have thought of. But when you think of it, the pursuit of happiness is on our minds all the time, isn’t it? Even if you’re not thinking about being happy per se, you’re likely thinking about how unhappy you are, or anxious, or stressed out. Happiness does sound pretty good. Why aren’t Americans happy?

Moreover, why are we pursuing unhappiness? I say that because every day people pursue unhappiness by putting poisonous substances into their mouths and into the mouths of their children. Factory food, diet products and drugs chip away at our vitality. By consuming poison we pursue obesity, disease, lower I.Q. and an early, ugly death. That doesn’t sound very happy to me.

In the 50s and 60s Jack Lalanne, “the Godfather of fitness,” encouraged Americans to avoid factory food products.  Watching this video and you’ll see how much I’m “channeling” the great Jack Lalanne. Millions ignored his advice, and they ignored the advice of nutritional pioneer Adele Davis and Euell Gibbons, “the father of modern wild foods.” Now we are in the midst of an obesity and disease crisis. Children are suffering the most.

In my radio interviews I often hear how hard it is to give up factory food products and am asked what “baby steps” people can take. If you have heard me talk you know that I do not advocate baby steps, nor do I pander to those who complain about how hard it is. Americans before us fought and died for the right to pursue happiness. So get off your butt, turn off the TV and make a dinner of real food for yourself or yourself and your family tonight, tomorrow night and from now on. Make eating real food a priority. Real food is miraculous.

Peace, Fun, Love.

Your girlfriend in health,

How I Got Happy—Ten Steps That May Work For You

Healthy Eating Expert Advice – ALWAYS NEW YOU

A few years ago I faced the fact that I was unhappy. I was living in Boston under duress while my heart and soul were in Los Angeles. My marriage had been on life support for a decade or more. I’d gone through ten years of health problems, a string of lawsuits, and grinding, unsatisfying, and expensive construction projects. My career was ambiguous, my social life flat, and I was bored and moreover I was tired of listening to the same inner tapes about disappointments, failures, regrets, and fears about the future. Not really knowing where to turn, I started reading books on happiness. READ MORE
