LUNCHING WITH LUMINARIES

This week I was invited to lunch with Barnaby Conrad (in the madras jacket). Barnaby and his wife Mary used to own the Santa Barbara Writer’s Conference, and I met him there 20 years ago. He still calls me “Cruella.”

It was fun to meet some new people and to see former Santa Barbara News Press columnist Susan Gulbransen. I was lucky to sit between Abe Polsky who teaches story structure at the conference and Laird Koenig who wrote fifteen screenplays and worked with Audrey Hepburn.

Too bad the photo is blurry, but you get the idea.
