WHAT MAKES A SUCCESSFUL NOVELIST

I sometimes wonder if I should have given up on this subject years ago when I realized how disturbing it is to most people. Of course I would like to be successful as a novelist but I think the most important goal of any storyteller is to make an impact in society in some way.

Since I started writing health books in 1996 people have asked me, “What do you eat?” so I thought it might be interesting to see what I really do eat. I may not be able to tell you every single solitary thing that goes into my mouth but in this series I will strive to present you a clear picture of my diet.

The best way is to start is with a goal. Create a mission statement for yourself. My mission is to live a happy and fulfilled life, care about my body, the planet, and women's issues.

FROM WHITE SLAVERY TO SEX TRAFFICKING

It was Kathleen Barry who taught me that the term “white slavery” had been abandoned for the more encompassing terms “trafficking in women and children,” and “sexual slavery.”
