I am happy to get back on track...

Thursday, December 25, 2008

Sometimes around the holidays there is so much rich food around it just feels good to eat healthy again.

Although I have to admit I did skinny down the Christmas dinner. It was just hubby and I so I did not have to worry about everything being traditional. I did not make mashed potatoes, instead I made browned sauted potatoes in just a a couple tablespoons of canola oil. No green bean casserole either. I made carrots and put just a teaspoonful of butter on the whole batch. The big bad stuff we had was the strawberry cupcakes for dessert. Which I will not eat anymore of if I have to throw them out!

I ordered a few things today to give myself some new inspiration. I got 2 books .....Are You Ready!: Take Charge, Lose Weight, Get in Shape, and Change Your Life Forever by Bob Harper......... and Death by Supermarket. I have wanted to read Death by Supermarket for awhile now so I am excited for it to arrive. I really need to get back to eating unprocessed foods again...and give up the soda!!

I am ready and revved up to start to really get serious now that Christmas is over I have ZERO excuses.
